We won our first grant

I am delighted to say that I have been awarded a grant from UnLtd which we will use to fund PKB’s first wiki site. This is the first grant I have won for Patients Know Best so I am feeling very grateful.

If you are doing anything that will make a social contribution, I recommend that you get in touch with the good folks of UnLtd. Their funding is small but fast, which means it lets you build a prototype quickly. The staff also have a lot of expertise and draw on a wide network of previous winners. This means they can provide a lot of advice on how to build a social enterprise and run it as a sustainable business. Finally, in talking to others about the award, I am noticing an instant rise in my credibility. It is great to have this support.

The money will fund my teaching work at UCL Medical School. I will teach “Wiki Medicine”, a course in which medical students have to create a medical encyclopedia that patients understand.
