We are excited to announce the following sites are now active this October!
Hywel Dda University Health Board
- The Smoking Cessation team are offering patients a secure messaging and support service. Patients will also be able to record a range of health measurements to help them monitor their progress with their team.
- The Respiratory Research team are communicating with patients who opt to participate in respiratory-related research in the health board.
Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board – patients at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend have access to their pathology results as a result of a national integration between PKB and the National Informatics Service in Wales (NWIS). Patients will also communicate with their healthcare team and monitor their symptoms. This month the following services have gone live:
- Colorectal Surgery
- Cardiology/Inpatient Heart Failure
- General Cardiology
- Adult Diabetes (Pump) Team
West Middlesex Hospital – Major Trauma team. Trauma specialists at the West Middlesex Hospital will see data from all PKB customers including North West London Care Information Exchange. They will make their Major Trauma Patient Care Pathways data available to North West London’s specially commissioned Major Trauma Network. The hospitals in the network are St Mary’s, Chelsea and Westminster, Ealing, Hillingdon, Northwick Park, Watford and West Middlesex. Clinicians will be able to view rehabilitation prescriptions, radiology reports, labs and outpatient appointments for patients who have been repatriated to the trauma unit from St Mary’s.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust – Data Access and Disclosure Office (DADO) are using PKB to fulfill subject access requests digitally for patients. As well as the convenience of having their records stored in a secure online platform that can be kept safe and shared with their care team, patients will benefit from the integration with the trust’s pathology and mail systems, allowing them to receive all new data alongside the records provided at the time of their request. This more comprehensive and ongoing method of access request is unique to this project. Furthermore, the DADO team will save time and money from a simple electronic access request fulfillment process, rather than the current alternative of posting paper records and burning files on to physical disks.
Surrey Care Record – the following GP surgeries have sent their data to PKB for professionals to see. This means PKB has a copy of the demographics, diagnoses, medications and allergies of all patients in their surgeries for non-GP providers looking after these patients to see.
