Our new appointment booking system is coming soon!

Patients will soon be able to book their GP and hospital appointments using Patients Know Best (PKB).

GP practices using EMIS software will be the first to start using the system this summer. Hospitals will follow as we work with our partners and hospital IT departments.

These changes will make it easier and more convenient for patients to book their appointments and cut back the unnecessary time spent waiting on the phone. It will also free up time and resources for our NHS customers.

In this blog, we provide an overview of the system using the wireframes for EMIS:

On the appointments screen, a button will appear if the patient’s PKB record is linked to a GP practice using EMIS.

By clicking this button, patients can see all available appointments.

From here, patients can choose the appointment they want.

This appointment will appear in the PKB record immediately.

Patients can change or cancel any EMIS appointments in PKB.
