Cycle to Work Day

Today is ‘Cycle to Work’ day!

As many of you may know, Patients Know Best is a completely remote company and we have been since our incorporation, so we don’t have an office to cycle to. However, we thought this was a great scheme and so have used this to encourage our employees to take some time off work to go for a cycle (or if they don’t have a bike, maybe a scooter session – we’ve had to be creative).

Sustainability is a key area of focus for PKB, both in terms of helping our customers improve their sustainable actions, such as reducing the number of cars on the road associated with healthcare delivery, and by looking at how we as a company can be more sustainable in our actions. More information on our sustainability programme can be found here

We also wanted to use this as an opportunity to introduce some of our employees who you may not have met before. Here’s our team who have ‘cycled to work’…

Benny

Benny is a developer on our GDE team, based in Hungary, and has been with PKB since. Benny has been a key part of the team delivering our NHS login & NHS App integration, and continually working on the front end changes to improve our usability.

Martin

A family effort for cycle to work day from one of Developers, Martin (and Merryn!). For those of you using our questionnaire functionality Martin & his AI team have been responsible for a lot of the improvements to this feature and the supporting architecture

Olivia

Meet Olivia, one of our newest members to the PKB team. Olivia leads on all things medical education (read more here) and has been with us since March. Another lovely sunny ride to promote cycle to work day which Olivias boyfriend did every day prior to moving to working from home last year.

Sarah

Sarah is one of our Senior Account Managers coming up to her 2 year anniversary with PKB! She looks after many of our Southern customers who will likely recognise Mabel and Dylan who often say hello on calls. They made the most of the weather for a family cycle.

Jamie

Another one of our developers, Jamie, used cycle to work day as motivation to do his first cycle rather than drive to nursery. Jamie has been with us for a couple of years, and is currently part of the team working on our EMIS integration.

Máté

Another family cycle from our VP of Engineering, Mate, and his daughter Dia. As you might be able to tell from this video, Mate and Dia actually cycle regularly to get around (this video was in 3 degrees, late November!).

The Bettell-Higgins

Ruth

A slightly different ‘cycle’ from Ruth one of our Senior Product Managers. Not all of us have bikes, but we didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity to look at alternative sustainable transport options, so today you can find Ruth on her four legged, living bike! Ruth has been with PKB for many years working first in our customer success team before moving into our product team to ensure the platform is the best it can be for our users. Ruth is currently working with our developers supporting the improvements to usability and improving our NHS login and NHS App integrations.

Sally

Another ‘kind of’ bike, this one at least has two wheels! I’m Sally our VP of Sales, as one of our senior management team, I’m involved in all aspects of the commercial side to the business (our sales and account management) and lead on our partnerships.

We hope you’ve enjoyed putting some faces to names this week, and that you’ve managed to get out for a cycle as well!
