I am delighted to announce that Dawson King, our Chief Technology Officer, has been elected to the committee that sets the next version of the data standard that Google, Microsoft, CVS and others use to share patient data.
The Continuity of Care Record (CCR) is an elegant but sophisticated data standard that allows sharing of data about patients. It is the digital equivalent of a referral letter, or a handover note between two clinicians. It includes the problems that the patient has, the medications for these problems, as well as allergies and past medical history.
Patients Know Best is the first company in the UK to use this data standard and we are now deploying it widely with our clinical partners. Because of this contribution to the international spread of the standard we have been invited to join the ASTM’s sexily named E31 committee. We look forward to working together on the next version of this data standard.
